11|11|11 — Savannah, Georgia

Up until now, I hadn't spent a lot of time in the deep south. After having the chance to be a part of Heather and Tim's wedding I have to say I've sort of fallen in love. Savannah is a magical place and this event was a surreal, almost mystical experience. Plus everyone was so nice! The weekend started off with a haunted pub crawl and ended with a party to watch the Georgia Bulldogs dismantle Auburn. What's better than haunted houses, drinking and SEC football?

With the full moon rising over the marsh as dusk turned into night on the party at Grove Point Plantation, I found myself in the middle of wave after wave of beauty, connection, fun and laughter. I was never at a loss for something interesting or beautiful to shoot. In other words, I had a blast.

Here's a little trailer to get y'all started.

Music is "Track 3" from the self titled album by Sigur Ros. Click here to buy online.

Wedding Film Trailer from Telluride

Nichole and Jim were an absolute inspiration to shoot. They both come from very lively, energetic families which resulted in a lot of fantastic footage. They had such a great connection and the surrounding beauty was spectacular to work in and around.

This is my first wedding shooting with DSLRs (Canon 7D) and editing in Final Cut Pro X. I'm finding the process of re-learning editing to be challenging but rewarding. The people at Apple are not afraid of change and I like to think I can keep up with that evolutionary attitude. I like the simplification of the process and look forward to how these new tools will enhance my ability to tell visual stories.

It was great working with photographer Laura Murray (www.lauramurrayphotography.com) who brought a great energy to the event and many inspired ideas. Judi Folga of Willow Creek in Ridgeway, CO (www.willowcreekfloral.com) did a great job coordinating the event.

Music is Lost Fur from the "Where the Wild Things Are" soundtrack by Carter Burwell. Click here to buy the mp3.
